Legal Operations Analytics — Hong Kong

Structured Analytics
for Legal Operations Teams

Pylon Index works with in-house legal teams to organise and interpret operational data — matter costs, external counsel spend, and matter throughput — into written reports and structured dashboards.

The work does not replace a data analyst on your team. It fills a specific gap: taking the data you already extract from your matter-management or billing systems and producing consistent, readable commentary on what it shows.

Why Pylon Index

What the Work Addresses

Consistent Reporting Format

Operational data reported on a regular cadence, in a consistent structure, without requiring your team to build it from scratch each quarter.

Written Commentary, Not Just Figures

Each report includes plain-language observations about what the data shows — not a spreadsheet left to interpretation.

Data Stays Under Your Control

We work from data you extract and share. We do not connect to your systems unless specifically arranged and documented.

Scope Set at the Start

Each engagement is defined upfront. The Data Readiness Review clarifies whether your data can support the analytical questions you have in mind before any larger commitment.

Focus on Legal Operations Context

The analytical frameworks used are built around legal operations specifically — matter categories, billing timekeeper classifications, and vendor panel structures.

Clear Pricing Per Engagement

HKD 1,050 for readiness review, HKD 3,100 for a single diagnostic, HKD 7,400 per month for the ongoing programme. No ambiguity about what is included.

Ready to Proceed

Is Your Operations Data Ready to Report On?

The Data Readiness Review answers that question directly. If the data is there, we scope the next step. If it is not, you leave with a clear picture of what needs to change.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked

What data do you need from us to begin?
That depends on what you want to analyse. For the Operations Analytics Programme and the Single Diagnostic, we typically work from matter-level cost data and, where available, timekeeper billing records. The Data Readiness Review is specifically designed to assess what you have before we ask for anything substantial.
Do you connect directly to our matter-management system?
Not by default. We operate from data you extract and share — typically as spreadsheet exports or structured files. Direct system integration is possible if specifically arranged, but it requires a separate data-handling discussion.
What does the Operations Analytics Programme not cover?
It does not cover legal advice, contract negotiation guidance, compliance monitoring, or any form of predictive modelling. The work is descriptive and organisational — it reports on what has happened with your operational data, not what will happen.
How long does a Single Diagnostic Study take?
Typically two to three weeks from the point we receive clean, structured data. Timelines shift depending on data condition and the scope of questions you want addressed. We confirm a delivery schedule before beginning.
Is the monthly price for the Programme fixed?
HKD 7,400 per month is the standard rate. The scope covered at that rate is agreed at the start of the engagement. If your data volume or reporting requirements grow substantially, we discuss scope adjustments before they affect pricing.
Do I need to commit to the Programme before trying a diagnostic?
No. The Single Diagnostic Study exists precisely for buyers who want to see the quality and format of the work before committing to an ongoing arrangement. Many engagements begin there.
