01
What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website you visit. They are widely used to make websites function correctly and to provide site operators with basic usage information.
In addition to cookies, similar technologies such as local storage, session storage, and pixel tags may be used on this site. This policy covers all such technologies collectively under the term "cookies" for readability.
02
Why We Use Cookies
Pylon Index uses cookies for two primary purposes: to keep the site functioning correctly across sessions, and to understand in aggregate how visitors navigate the site so that we can improve it. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles or to track individuals across unrelated sites.
The site does not operate a personalisation engine or serve behavioural advertising based on cookie data collected here.
03
Types of Cookies We Use
Essential Cookies
Required for basic site operation. These cookies cannot be switched off. They do not store personally identifiable information. Includes the consent preference record stored in your browser's local storage.
Analytics Cookies
Used to measure site traffic and understand how visitors reach and navigate the site. Data is aggregated. We use Google Analytics (GA4) for this purpose. These cookies are only set with your consent.
Marketing Cookies
Where active, these cookies may be set by advertising platforms we use (such as Google Ads or Meta Pixel) to understand the general effectiveness of outreach campaigns. They are only set with your consent, and we do not use the data to profile or retarget individual users beyond standard platform operation.
Preference Cookies
Used to remember choices you make on the site, such as language or display preferences. Currently limited in scope. Only set with your consent.
04

The table below lists the specific cookies and storage entries currently in use on this site. Third-party analytics and advertising platforms may set additional cookies not listed here; those platforms maintain their own cookie registries.

Analytics and marketing cookies are only placed after you give consent via the cookie notice on the site. If you subsequently withdraw consent or clear your browser storage, these cookies will not be re-set until you visit again and consent again.
05
Third-Party Cookies
Some pages on this site embed content from or link to third-party services. Where such content loads external resources — for example, a Google Maps iframe — the relevant third party may set its own cookies. Pylon Index does not control those cookies.
Third-party services referenced on this site include Google (Analytics, Ads, Maps), Meta Platforms, and Microsoft (Bing Ads). Each operates under its own privacy and cookie terms. Links to their policies are available from each platform's privacy documentation.
06
Managing Cookies
You may control cookies through your browser settings. Most modern browsers allow you to view, block, or delete cookies from specific sites. Blocking essential cookies may affect basic site functionality. Blocking analytics or marketing cookies will not prevent you from accessing any content on this site.
You may also opt out of Google Analytics measurement across all sites using Google's opt-out browser add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Meta and Microsoft offer similar opt-out mechanisms through their respective advertising platforms.
To withdraw your consent on this site specifically, clear the cookieConsent entry from your browser's local storage for this domain. The consent notice will reappear on your next visit.
07
Consent Mechanism
On your first visit to this site, a notice appears at the foot of the page describing our cookie use and offering you the option to accept or decline non-essential cookies. Your choice is recorded in your browser's local storage under the key cookieConsent.
Selecting "Accept" enables analytics and marketing cookies in addition to essential ones. Selecting "Reject" limits the site to essential cookies only. Either choice persists across subsequent visits until you clear your local storage or update your browser settings.
08
Data Retention
Session cookies are removed from your device when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain for the duration listed in the Cookie Inventory above, or until you delete them manually.
Data collected via analytics cookies (e.g., visit counts, page paths) is retained in Google Analytics for up to 14 months from the date of collection, after which it is deleted from that platform. We do not hold a separate copy of analytics data beyond what the platform retains.
09
Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit a "Do Not Track" signal to websites. There is currently no consistent industry standard for how sites should respond to this signal. This site does not alter its cookie behaviour based on Do Not Track headers. If you wish to limit tracking, the most direct approach is to use the consent mechanism described above or to configure your browser's cookie settings directly.
10
Policy Updates
This policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in the cookies we use or in applicable guidance. The date at the top of this page indicates when the current version was last revised. Material changes will be indicated by a new date. Continued use of the site following an update constitutes acknowledgement of the revised policy.
